AEW FULL GEAR LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

Stop shaking your hands, look at me. Are your senses endlessly searching for past impressions? The same was true for mine, but now I’m just here to live blog this pro wrestling show for you.

Eddie Kingston (c) vs. Jay Lethal (ROH World Championship)

Stokely Hathaway is the commentator here.

Deadly with a side headlock, shot, shoulder block, back to the headlock. Kingston sends him to the floor with a lariat, Jay takes control on the way back and chokes him in the corner. Lethal stays in control and tries to drag Eddie off the ropes. King catches him with the exploder suplex!

Deadly combination, sit on top, put on boots, roll through, rana pin… DEADLY SEND OUT! Pump kick into an enzuigiri, Jay drops the elbow… SO CLOSE! Deadly combination blocked, Saito suplex hits! Big Uranage…NO! Sonjay Dutt lands a punch on the ground, blocks the deadly combination again, half and half…

Eddie Kingston wins by pinfall with Backfist to the Future to retain the ROH World Championship.

After the match, Eddie cuts a promo from the ramp welcoming us to the preshow, telling us there’s a lot of shit coming up next, and calling Stokely Hathaway a bald bitch.

Buddy Matthews vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Matthews throws his jacket at Castagnoli, but Claudio comes back with an uppercut! Boot high in the corner, double leg, giant swing blocked, chops into the barricade, uppercut follows! Another attacking uppercut, Buddy takes control of the ground with a knee and sends Meteora diving to follow!

Reverse chinlock applied, back suplex countered, Claudio with an uppercut in the corner, elbow, with a big boot off the ropes! Buddy with a cross-legged victory roll for two, Castagnoli with Swiss Death… STILL NO! Freak out, swap boots, block Meteora… HUGE SWING!

To release, cover, still just a nearfall! With punches in the corner and headbutts, Matthews slides under and trips him up for Cheeky Nando! Tenryu powerbomb, no deal, jackhammer… STILL NO! Arm trap crossface on the kickout, overhead elbows follow as Castagnoli starts fighting out!

Fireman’s carry, TKO hits, Ricola bombs the Sharpshooter, Matthews crawls but can’t break free…

Claudio Castagnoli wins by submission with the Sharpshooter.

After the game, Claudio offers a handshake, but Buddy gives him the cold shoulder!

Ass Boys (Austin & Colten Gunn) vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman (c) & Samoa Joe (ROH World Tag Team Championship)

Friedman and Colten start, Max comes out of the gates and gives him hard kicks in the corner! Gunn cuts him off, side headlock, MJF takes him out, Fargo Strut, both Ass Boys attack at the same time! Joe dives and takes them both out! Back inside, he shrugs and moves away from a dropkick, senton into jabs, uppercut setting up the enzuigiri!

Joe drags Colten over, tags to a reluctant MJF and he ends up on the wrong side of town again. Double elbows, Max reaches out, blocks punches and throws Austin for the tag! Colten throws him into an elbow, ass boys running hot, double DDT, Max tries a muscle buster, Joe too, Gunns slip out and pass them together!

Off the ropes, 3:10 to Yuma on Samoa Joe…MJF PULLS AUSTIN OUT OF THE COVER! Ass Boys are in Control – THIS IS ADAM COLES MUSIC! Hobbling down on crutches, his ROH World Championship strapped to his hip, Joe takes Colten to the ground…

Maxwell Jacob Friedman & Samoa Joe win by submission with Joe’s Coquina Clutch against Colten Gunn and Adam Cole & MJF retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

After the match, Joe reminds Max that he owes him a title match and they shake hands.

MJF and Cole share a beautiful moment as the Ass Boys attack the World Champion and beat him down while the injured Adam is helpless to do anything about it! The Gunns attack Friedman and shatter his knee with a steel chair! They wrap the chair around his ankle… PILLMANIZED!

Medics come to the ring and stretch MJF out while I take a moment to check the mail.

Luckily my wife takes over while I’m away –

And he leaves the ring on a stretcher, poor thing. Does anyone else think their t-shirt says “The Sour Scumbag”? On the way to the meat truck, MJF makes Adam Cole promise not to take his title away from them. The baby Adam Cole agrees.

The main show begins with a video package highlighting today’s games.

The commentary summarizes the Gunns’ injury to Maxwell Jacob Friedman at the end of the preshow.

Adam Copeland, Darby Allin and Sting vs. the Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne)

Ric Flair is in the babyface corner.

Allin and Wayne start, Darby takes control with a wristlock, a one-armed monkeyflip and a headlock takedown! The trading arm follows suit, Allin tags in Sting and the icon goes to work! He passes Nick to the floor and goes back in, Cage is legal and Copeland comes in too! Christian immediately breaks it up and brings in Luchasaurus!

Adam with elbows, off the ropes, right hands, corner body avalanche, tag to allin, boot in the corner, sunset flip blocked, goozle, Darby flips out of the chokeslam but Christian hangs his neck over the top rope… LUCHASAURUS CHOKESLAMS ALL IN OVER THE ROPES AND TO THE APRON!

Back inside, Darby finds himself on the wrong side of town as the patriarchy works on him. Nick makes the worst move I’ve ever seen while making eye contact with the Nature Boy at ringside. Fighting for position with Wayne on the turnbuckles, biting the hand… YOSHI TONIC OFF THE TOP!

Cage crawls under the ring and cuts off Copeland on the other side, Sting gives chase but Luchasaurus knocks him down! Christian comes in, running after Allin as he crawls into the empty turnbuckles and taunts him! Calls for it, spear, dodge, Adam in, Impaler DDT on Luchasaurus, Allin lunges hard at everyone… STING JUMPS OVER RIC FLAIR TO HIT A PLANCHA ON THE DINOSAUR MAN!

Back in, Goozles on Copeland and Sting, they fight, reverse DDT setup… DIVING ELBOW-ASSISTED SCORPION DEATH DROP! The match breaks down, Luchasaurus fights everyone and knocks Adam out! Ric beats Cage on the floor, Christian takes the Nature Boy down with a low blow!

Cage goes out…

Adam Copeland, Darby Allin and Sting win by pinfall with Allin’s coffin drop on Luchasaurus.
