All-elite wrestling star Cash Wheeler was arrested in Orlando Friday morning and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
The 36-year-old, whose real name is Daniel Wheeler, has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in county court, Orange County Records shows. The charge in question is a third-degree felony in the state of Florida.
An arrest warrant was filed as early as June 28, with Wheeler pleading not guilty through his attorney on August 3 before finally being arrested Friday morning.
Wheeler appeared in court Friday afternoon, where prosecutors said the arrest appeared to result from “a traffic incident.”
Police documents show a man said he was behind the wheel when he saw a Jeep Gladiator “weaving through traffic and out of it” and honking its horn, according to TMZ.

The man reportedly said he pulled into the far right lane to avoid the jeep, but its driver squeezed onto the shoulder and pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol, which he aimed at him with a “strong look.”
Wheeler, who spent six years in WWE before leaving the organization in 2020, is one-half of the current AEW Tag Team Champion “FTR” along with partner Dax Harwood.
As of today, FTR is currently scheduled to fight the Young Bucks – their longtime tag team rivals – at the AEW All-In at Wembley Stadium in London on August 27th.
The event is believed to have already sold a staggering 80,000 tickets in what will be considered one of the largest attendances in pro wrestling history.
A statement to the Orlando Sentinel said: “AEW has been made aware of the charges and we are closely monitoring the situation.” [Wheeler] fully cooperates with the local authorities.’
has reached out to Wheeler’s lawyer for comment.
Wheeler began his wrestling career on the independent circuit under the ring name Steven Walters, appearing along with a number of other promotions for NWA Anarchy before signing with WWE in 2014.
There he adopted the alias Dash Wilder, a name given to him by wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes.
Wheeler won the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships while with the company before he and Harwood, who went by the name Scott Dawson, were released from their contracts in April 2020.
It was later revealed that FTR turned down a big offer to stay in WWE and join AEW after being pulled from a series of Main Squad events.
