AFL star Kristian Jaksch and model Alex Hecker have spoken about what made their fairytale wedding in March so special.

The former Carlton player, 29, told the Herald Sun that love blossomed between them after they met in 2018 through their roles as Guide Dogs Australia ambassadors.

“Our beloved Labrador Lynney was our ring bearer for our ceremony and carried the rings attached to her collar down the aisle,” he began.

“It was so special to share our big moment with the people we loved most, but what made it even more special was that we tied the knot in a place that was so dear to us .”

The lovebirds got married on March 4th at Feathertop Winery in Bright, where Kristian proposed the year before.

Alex said they were aiming for a wedding with a “classic yet contemporary feel, something that was elegant but not dated.”

The model looked absolutely radiant in a custom-made Stella York dress that combined traditional flair with modern style.

Meanwhile, Kristian cut a stunning figure in a custom navy tuxedo by P. Johnson.

Several of Kristian’s AFL A-list friends attended the wedding.

His Carlton friends Sam Docherty, Daniel Gorringe and Dylan Buckley were among the high-profile guests.

“We always envisioned our wedding as a moment to share with the people closest to us, rather than just a day for the two of us, and that’s exactly what we got,” he said.

Kristian began his AFL career with Greater Western Sydney in 2013 and moved to Carlton in 2015, where he remained until the end of 2017
