Ethiopian startup (emerging companies with high growth potential through the use of new technologies) Coffee Resurrect won the award in the Green Technology category.
The latter was congratulated by the Minister of Labor and Skills, Muferihat Kamil, who appreciated the award as fundamental in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa.
Kamil noted during the ceremony at Friendship Square in this capital that the new companies shortlisted for the Global Innovation Initiative Group (GIIG) offer solutions to global problems in their areas of involvement.
The summit’s official website highlighted the critical role of visionary leadership, dynamic policies and an enriching ecosystem in fostering innovation under the theme “Building Innovative Nations.”
He revealed that the discussions held were not only inspiring and informative, but also resulted in actionable actions for the future of the African innovation ecosystem alongside key stakeholders including start-ups, governments, corporates, ecosystem enablers, investors and family offices.
The GSAs brought together influential companies and investors from more than 100 countries around the world. The network offered participants the opportunity to meet potential mentors, partners and customers and gain access to the latest industry trends.
The Ministry of Labor and Skills organized the event in collaboration with the Ethiopian Entrepreneur Development Institute and GIIG.
