The influencer Sthefanny Carvalho and the funk artist MC Kelvin spoke out on social media this Tuesday (2), hours after the young woman's team published a note informing that the couple during a trip disappeared to Chile.
Sthefanny and Kelvin have had no contact with their family for two days. When they resurfaced, followers criticized them and accused them of faking their disappearance.
“A lot of people have said we’re doing this for cookies and likes,” MC Kelvin said. We didn't even know what was going on, it wasn't intentional to appear on the gossip site. Do we have to do marketing like this while our mothers cry to get likes?” he said.
According to an official statement from the company responsible for the influencer's career, Love Funk House, Sthefanny and her boyfriend disappeared on the night of December 31 after posting a video in a car.
“On the night of December 31, 2023, while traveling through Chile, the influencer Sthefanny Carvalho shared in her stories a video showing the interior of a car while, as far as we know, traveling on a dark road in the company of her “Friend, Mc Kelvin,” the note said.
“However, following this post, family and friends were unable to make contact with the couple, which immediately caused concern, particularly given the fact that they were abroad. As of today (January 2, 2023) we have no further information about the whereabouts of both.”
Hours after the official announcement was released, Sthefanny and her boyfriend posted a video reassuring their followers. According to MC Kelvin, the couple lost their cell phone during a New Year's party.
“Long story short, we went to a New Year's party in the Andes. No reception, no WiFi. It was up in the Andes. There were a lot of Brazilians there, we enjoyed the party, ok, “And then we went back to the apartment where we lived,” said the funk singer.
“We don't know exactly if it was a theft or if we suddenly lost our bag or if they took our bag because we had so much on our minds, that's one of the possibilities. With this question in mind we didn't know I went to the police station.
The influencer known as Sthe Carvalho has 4 million followers on Tik Tok. She publishes fashion and beauty content on social media. MC Kelvin is Sthefanny's boyfriend. The couple was on vacation in Chile when they were reported missing.
