After Anglade, QS spokesmen criticized a Tiktok video

The two co-speakers of Québec solidaire, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois and Manon Massé, briefly danced to a song with sexist lyrics on the social network TikTok.

The video was first criticized by Rosalie Tremblay-Cloutier, a press secretary for various Coalition avenir Québec candidates, who took to Twitter to wonder if “Québec solidaire is now supporting misogynistic and violent language.”

In a short video, about ten seconds long, posted online by comedian Emna Achour, we can see how the two solidarity chefs deliver their rendition of a viral dance on TikTok that includes the lyrics to the song “Hit You With The Blick” by Rapper KJ used, recorded by tiktokeur @k.comedy.

The uploaded clip features the word “bitch,” but the full text is much more misogynistic. The whole song makes outright references to rape.

The song found success on TikTok when it was superimposed over images of an animated grandmother dancing, a trend later echoed by many netizens who took up dancing.

Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois’ press secretary, Sandrine Bourque, countered by raising the issue of the environment.

“Seriously, if CAQ had put as much energy into fighting climate change as finding muddy ‘spins’ on QS, we might have cut greenhouse gas emissions for four years instead of increasing them,” Sandrine Bourque wrote on Twitter.
