247 The Bolsonarista disaster has polluted the image of the armed forces in Brazil. This is indicated by the Ipsos research published by the columnist Mônica Bergamo in Folha de S. Paulo. “Brazilians are among those who have the least trust in their armed forces compared to residents of other countries. The revelation comes from an Ipsos Institute survey conducted in 28 countries between May and June. According to the poll, only 30% of Brazilians believe in the military. The rate is the same as for the Poles. And it’s just no lower than that of Colombians (29%), South Africans (28%) and South Koreans (25%),” the columnist writes.

“The Brazilian rate was 11 percentage points below the global average of 41 percent. The feeling of credibility has also dropped compared to last year, when 35 percent of Brazilians said they trust the military,” adds the journalist. “On the other hand, 64% of Brazilians who took part in the survey indicated that teachers were the most reliable group. Then came scientists (61%) and doctors (59%). The online survey surveyed 21,000 adults around the world May 27 and June 10, 1,000 of whom were born and live in Brazil,” he points out.
