After two planes collided at Tokyo's Haneda airport, helpers began cleaning up the wreckage. The first wreckage of the Japan Airlines (JAL) Airbus was removed on Friday, the airline said. A Japanese Coast Guard spokeswoman said recovery of the plane's wreckage began on Thursday and continued into Friday.
The JAL plane collided with the Coast Guard aircraft after landing in Tokyo on Tuesday and burned. All 379 occupants of the passenger plane managed to save themselves using emergency slides.
The cause of the accident is still unclear
However, five crew members aboard the coast guard aircraft died; only the pilot survived, seriously injured. The plane was supposed to take off for a mission in the earthquake region in the center of the country when the accident occurred.
The cause of the collision remained unclear Friday. Emergency services are currently investigating the videos and recorded radio contact with the support of experts from France, Britain and Canada. (APA)
