After he and Diddy were accused of rape Aaron Hall

After he and Diddy were accused of rape, Aaron Hall is under scrutiny over the lyrics to his song “Don’t Be Afraid.”

Aaron Hall has come under scrutiny over the lyrics to his 1992 song Don’t Be Afraid.

The 59-year-old singer, along with rapper Diddy, was accused of raping a woman in the early 1990s.

Diddy was sued in New York County Supreme Court by an anonymous woman who claimed he and Aaron took turns raping her and a friend in 1990 or 1991, Rolling Stone reported Friday.

Jane Doe also claims in her lawsuit that Diddy later visited her after the alleged rape and choked her out of fear that her boyfriend would tell his then-girlfriend about the sexual assault.

The lyrics of Aaron’s song Don’t Be Afraid are now being re-evaluated as part of the lawsuit.

The song contains a verse in which Aaron sings about a woman being “all to myself,” whose doors are “locked,” and how she has “no reason to run away.”

He sings, “Now I have you all to myself/You can put all the other boys on the shelf/

“No reason to run and no reason to hide/All the doors are locked, baby, and I got you inside/You can scream and you can hit me/It just makes me horny.”

The song resurfaced on X/Twitter following the lawsuit, and many fans commented on the lyrics.

One user wrote: “Aaron Hall was smeared and the lyrics to ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ said it all.”

Another added: “The lyrics in Aaron Hall’s ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ sound eerily similar to the details of the plaintiff’s allegations.”

A third wrote: “That Aaron Hall song Don’t Be Afraid…the lyrics!!!”

Hall rose to fame in 1988 as a member of the R&B group Guy, whose debut album sold over a million copies. He also released three solo albums with varying degrees of success.

The news comes shortly after Diddy was sued by a second woman who claimed he drugged and sexually abused her while she was in college in 1991.

In a statement from his spokesperson to , Combs vehemently denied the allegations detailed in the lawsuit, calling them a “money grab.”

“These are fabricated allegations that falsely allege wrongdoing from over 30 years ago and were filed at the last minute.” “This is nothing more than a money grab,” his spokesman said. “Mr. Combs’ fame and success makes him an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie for financial gain without conscience or consequence.”

They further claimed that “the New York Legislature certainly did not intend or expect the Adult Survivors Act to be exploited by fraudsters,” adding, “The public should be skeptical and not rush to accept these false accusations.”

He previously reached a settlement in a lawsuit brought by his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, after just one day, but the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

The agreement was made possible by the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law that expired Thursday.

The law, which went into effect on November 24, 2022, allows adult survivors of sexual abuse to file a lawsuit for one year, regardless of whether the statute of limitations on their claim has already expired.

In her lawsuit, Jane Doe claims she met Diddy and Hall at an Uptown Records party held at the company’s offices in New York and hosted by its distributor, MCA Records.

“Combs and Hall were very flirtatious and helpful with Jane Doe and her friend, offering them drinks throughout the night,” the filing states.

As the party neared its end, Diddy and Hall allegedly invited the woman and her friend over to Hall to continue the celebration.

“While Jane Doe was at Hall’s apartment, she was offered additional drinks and forced to have sex with Combs,” the lawsuit states. “After Combs completed his business, Jane Doe lay in bed shocked and traumatized. While she was getting dressed, Hall stormed into the room, held her down and forced Jane Doe to have sex with him.

The woman then claims she quickly dressed and rushed out of Hall’s house.

In the lawsuit, she claims she later contacted her friend, who told her she was “forced to have sex with Combs and Hall in another room.”

“According to information and belief, Combs and Hall transitioned when he was done with Jane Doe,” the filing says.

But the woman’s alleged problems with Diddy weren’t over yet. She claims that a few days after the alleged rape, he came to the house where she was staying with her friend and then attacked her.

“He became angry and began attacking and choking Jane Doe until she passed out,” the lawsuit says. “Combs was looking for Jane Doe’s girlfriend because he was afraid that she would tell the girl he was with at the time what he and Hall had done to them.”

In addition to Combs and Hall, the woman is also suing MCA Music Entertainment and Geffen Records.

As evidence of her claims, Jane Doe’s lawsuit states that she “informed her close friends and family of the incident,” although it is unclear when she claims to have shared this information.

She also claims that she sought some form of medical treatment “to heal from the trauma that Combs and Hall inflicted on her.”

The unnamed woman’s lawsuit follows two previous lawsuits against Diddy.

On November 16, his former girlfriend, singer Cassie, sued him for rape and physical abuse, claiming that the rapper not only raped her, but also plied her with drugs and forced her to have sex with male prostitutes while he filmed her.

After just one day, he quickly decided to reach an agreement with his ex, whereupon a judge dismissed the lawsuit.

Then on Thursday it was reported that a second woman had sued the music mogul.

Joi Dickerson-Neal, who says she was a student at Syracuse University in 1991, claims Diddy put something in her drink and then sexually assaulted her and filmed the act.

She also claims that Combs then shared the video widely with people in his social circle.

Diddy, through a representative, denied the claim, calling it “fabricated and not credible” and a “money grab.”
