According to the SEC, the application came from Garantido because the allegories in the concentration had been damaged by the heavy rains in Parintins.

In an official statement, the SEC confirmed that the time change was due to rain that hit the city in the late afternoon and that the decision was made in agreement with the Bumbás.

The President of Boi Caprichoso, Jender Lobato, informed through his press office that he was in agreement with the decision as the sound check could not take place in the afternoon due to the rain. “I understand that due to the rain there was no soundcheck rehearsal, so I’m fine with it starting at 9pm,” he explained.

The galley stands have been packed since the late afternoon when the sound check would take place (Márcio Silva/A Crítica (Márcio Silva/A Crítica)

With many bands Caprichoso has 32 musicians, while Garantido has about 10 fewer technical adjustments are necessary in order for the sound to live up to the grandeur of the show.

With the delay, there is a tendency for the Bumbás to be able to make even brief adjustments to the sound.
