During his visit to Moscow on Tuesday, Belarusian President Lukashenko looked unusually weak. He had to cancel a planned meal with Putin “due to health reasons”. According to Belarusian sources, he is now in a clinic.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko reportedly went to a hospital near Minsk. This is reported by the independent Belarusian Euroradio and the Hajun Observatory of Belarus. “According to our information, Lukashenko arrived at the Republican Clinical Medical Center (‘Clinic of the President’) near the Drazdy Reservoir at around 7 pm today,” wrote Belarusian Hajun on Twitter.

During the arrival of the Belarusian ruler, access to the clinic was blocked. Armed security forces guarded the roads there. After Lukashenko’s motorcade passed, they reopened the roads.

There was speculation about Lukashenko’s health after the May 9 Victory Day celebrations in Moscow. Videos showed Lukashenko watching the parade in Red Square with a pained expression on his face. The Belarusian president looked “tired and a little shaky”, according to the Portal news agency.

Lukashenko had to travel the 300 meters from Red Square to the laying of the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in an electric car. He was also absent from a subsequent state banquet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Lukashenko left early “for health reasons”, he said.
