247 Russia has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on the deadly Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk, Russia’s first deputy representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, said on Tuesday, according to the Sputnik news agency.

“We urgently call for an open meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with today’s attacks on Donetsk by the Kiev regime,” Polyansky said via Telegram. “We hope that it will take place on November 8 at 23:00 Moscow time [20:00 GMT].”

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian troops bombed Donetsk several times. One of the attacks hit a facility of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population in the city of Voroshilovsky, while another hit a bus. According to Mayor Alexey Kulemzin, six people were killed and eleven injured.

According to the latest data from the Donetsk People’s Republic, more than 20 people were killed and injured in the attacks.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that Russian forces had repelled seven Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk direction in the last 24 hours and Kiev had lost up to 245 soldiers. According to the ministry, Ukraine also suffered up to 170 military casualties in the Krasnyi Lyman direction and up to 160 in the Kupiansk direction.
