The United States is facing the presidential elections in 2024. This was also discussed in the program “Controcorrente” on August 27th on Rete4. The guest host was Vittorio Feltri, Libero’s editor-in-chief, who removed a few stones from his shoe as he spoke about the war in Ukraine and the United States’ role on the international stage.
“Trump is the least bad, but I have no sympathy for the Americans,” said Vittorio Feltri. “They have been masters of the world for 60 years, but they dropped two nuclear bombs, they went to Korea and Vietnam and nobody understood why. Then they I went to Iraq and Afghanistan and after twenty years they retired. I have no admiration for Americans and we must distance ourselves from them even though they helped us in World War II. Even then, not much will change between Trump and the others. Trump doesn’t make wars, but Biden is different. The Italians now want to know why, after a year and a half, no solution has been found to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It all seems strange and also rather stupid”.
