The luckily surviving victim is an African American girl who was involved in a fight with another student
The 12yearold was forcibly picked up, handcuffed and taken away. The officer was not on police duty at the time but was working as a security guard at a school, resigning from the latter role.
In the video, which was filmed at Kenosha’s Lincoln Middle School, the police officer is seen rushing in with exaggerated anger to quell the fight. Before throwing the girl to the ground, he throws another student to the ground it’s not clear if he’s a boy or a girl because he’s wearing a hooded sweatshirt again with unprecedented violence. The girl’s father said that “the daughter is very traumatized and does not want to go to school.”
Also in March, another disturbing episode surfaced: Edward Bronstein, a 38yearold white man arrested for a police stop in California and smothered to death by officers who mercilessly pressed their knees behind his back while repeating, “I can’t breathe”. The same phrase was last uttered by George Floyd, the 46yearold African American man who was killed by police in Minneapolis and has become a symbol of the Black Lives Matter movement’s protests against police brutality.
