It will take some time to understand how the fight for the Agnelli legacy will end. A three-hour hearing took place yesterday as part of the Turin investigation into alleged tax fraud related to Marella Agnelli's income. The judges reserve their rights, as is usual in the appeal court: they will express their opinion on the confiscations of the last few days by Saturday. The judges, reports Il Giornale, have ordered a computer-aided analysis of the material obtained.

The situation doesn't scare John Elkann's lawyers at all: “We read it too. We have not found anything new compared to what has been echoing in Italian and foreign courtrooms for twenty years, and yet we are sure that all the insinuations and doubts expressed by the media in recent days find very clear answers in behavior absolutely legal. We want the judges to work in complete calm and on our part we are extremely calm because in the end I think the outcome of this matter will be positive: much ado about nothing.”
