Located on the corner of Charles-de-la-Tour and Antonio-Barbeau streets, the Achtarout bakery has repeatedly been the target of fires and even gunfire. The sector has therefore been the subject of increased surveillance by the Northern Project Investigation Section in collaboration with Neighborhood Stations 17 and 10 and other specialized units of the SPVM, a press release said.

This monitoring has paid off. At around 1 a.m. on the night of Thursday to Friday, two minors aged 16 and 17 and a 19-year-old woman were arrested after breaking the shop’s windows. The SPVM states that the two young people had “incendiary items” in their possession. The young woman drove the vehicle in which they arrived at the crime scene and in which they then tried to escape.

The three tried to escape, but were caught by officers and arrested. “They are currently being received by investigators and charges will be filed against them,” specifies the SPVM.

In addition to incendiary items, cell phones and other evidence were also confiscated.

The investigation into the threats against this bakery is ongoing.
