Microsoft has integrated its AI image generator Cocreator into the Paint app in Windows 11. Previously reserved for Windows Insiders, this tool uses OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 model to create images for image design.
The tool is now available to users in the US, France, UK, Australia, Canada, Italy and Germany. There is currently a waiting list to use the cocreator function. If you are interested in using this tool, you can sign up for the waitlist using the Cocreator page box. After you express your interest, you will receive an email notification if you are eligible to use the feature.
To use Cocreator, users open Paint and click the corresponding button in the upper right corner between the color picker and the layers area. A window will prompt users to enter a description of the image they want and select a style (charcoal, sketch, watercolor, photorealism, etc.). The tool generates three images that the user can then edit with other Paint tools.
Although this image generator is new to Paint, Microsoft has already integrated this feature into other services. For example, users have been able to enter image generation requests into Bing’s chatbot for some time, and this functionality was recently integrated into Copilot.
Cocreator’s integration with Paint (the image editing application that comes with the Windows operating system) makes it easier for average users to create AI-generated images.
