Airbnb recently approved the subletting method in the city of Miami. This deal, aimed in particular at investors and hosts, has been available in the rest of the country since last year.
Apartments in a building in Wynwood can now be sublet for the time being. However, it is estimated that the idea will soon spread to the rest of South Florida. The privileged location is the Sentral Wynwood complex at 51 NW 26th St. The property has been confirmed to have 175 rental units.
What is new about this form of business is that you do not necessarily have to own the house in order to rent it out. A worker at the building, Reem Samhoury, told Telemundo that “only those renting long-term can sublet their space”. Likewise, it is permissible to offer the entire apartment to clients when the current tenants are on vacation or out of town for some reason.
Flexible contracts on the way
Airbnb communications director Carlos Olivos cited the issue. “Negotiations are already underway with developers and building managers so that the contracts on the platform are flexible.”
