Just for Laughs TV has just signed a deal with Netflix to air three solo comedy shows in French over the next three years.
According to what was shared on Monday, the first of those shows will be filmed this year, but we’ve been careful not to reveal the identity of the comedian entitled to a taping.
Netflix and Just for Laughs aren’t their first engagements together. Mathieu Dufour’s show at the Bell Center was recorded on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Just for Laughs festival last July and then uploaded to the American platform.
“We’re thrilled to expand our collaboration with Netflix and begin a new three-year partnership that will allow us to bring even more great French-Canadian comedy talent to Netflix subscribers,” said Marina, Chief Content Officer of the Just for Laughs Group di Pancrazio, in a statement.
“Quebec has incredible stand-up voices for the world to explore. We’re excited to deepen our relationship with Just for Laughs after collaborating on Math Duff’s Hilarious Show last year,” added Netflix Canada Content Director Tara Woodbury.
