Thanks to a new partnership, Apple also wants to implement this in hotels. The goal is to provide a premium user experience.
Apple announced its intention to make AirPlay available in hotels at WWDC 2023. This allows Apple users to easily stream music and videos to their bedroom TVs.
To carry out this major project, Apple has chosen to partner with the famous manufacturer of LG TVs. The manufacturer is widely used in hotel establishments around the world.
Apple x LG: an obvious partnership
According to LG, its TVs are most commonly found in hotel rooms, surpassing Samsung, which is what prompted Apple to decide to partner. The goal of this collaboration is to make using AirPlay as easy as possible and to eliminate passwords, app downloads and complex codes.
Nothing could be easier to connect. Apple users just need to scan a unique QR code displayed on the TV for an instant connection.
Michael Kosla, Vice President of Hospitality at LG Business Solutions, welcomes this groundbreaking partnership for the travel and hospitality industry. Details on LG TVs’ compatibility with this feature have not been disclosed.
A little more patience
Apple and LG are finalizing details for AirPlay rollout to the hotel later this year. This new initiative promises to transform the in-room entertainment experience. In concrete terms, this increases guest satisfaction and gives the hotels a clear advantage over their local competitors.
In summary, Apple and LG are joining forces to democratize AirPlay in hotels. The aim is to simplify the distribution of content for Apple users and give hotels an undeniable competitive advantage.
