Apple recently released these new AirPods Pro 2 that come with a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port. Although the excellent wireless headphones only recently came onto the market, they have already benefited from a price reduction: Instead of 279 euros, Rakuten is now offering them for 224.99 euros.
The official announcement was made during the Apple keynote on September 12th. On this day, the Cupertino company announced not only the arrival of the highly anticipated iPhone 15, but also that of the AirPods Pro 2, equipped with a USB-C port. So no more Lightning port. Apple has thus complied with the European Union’s requirement that from 2024 the presence of a USB-C port will be required for all smartphones, tablets, headphones and other technical products sold on the European market. Fortunately, despite this charging port change, the AirPods Pro 2 USB-C versions remain identical to those that launched in 2022. Their introductory price is even lower than their predecessors, and a 55 euro promotion is currently further reducing their price for Single Day.

Noise reduction as pleasant as ever
At first glance, it can be difficult to distinguish the AirPods Pro 2 from their predecessors because the two designs are so similar. Here too we find this root format, which is characteristic of the company’s true wireless. The comfort of these in-ear headphones remains essential and the workmanship is as exemplary as ever. The AirPods Pro 2 are also IPX4 certified and therefore resistant to splashes, sweat and even dust. Spatial Audio, a real asset
The AirPods Pro 2 also stand out for their audio performance. Apple’s new dynamic transducers enable excellent acoustic reproduction, not to mention that the sound emitted by the headphones is perfectly balanced. Thanks to Spatial Audio we are also entitled to good reproduction of Dolby Atmos, which specifically offers excellent spatiality of the sound. In this mode, the soundstage suddenly expands in width, height and depth and also gains even more punch.
Finally, as far as their autonomy is concerned, the AirPods Pro 2 offer a usage time of just over 5 hours with ANC and Spatial Audio activated and up to 6 hours with stereo music. The case offers a battery life of up to 30 hours. A box that, as mentioned above, houses a USB-C port that (finally) replaces the unscrewable Lightning port. You can also charge the case using the iPhone battery by connecting it via a USB-C to USB-C cable.
