French actor Alain Delon has been placed “under judicial protection” following a dispute between his three children over his medical care, a source close to the case told AFP on Monday (29), confirming information from the BFM television channel.
According to a document seen by AFP, the court appointed a legal representative to accompany the 88yearold actor during his medical treatment and in the selection of his guardians.
On January 10, lawyers for Alain Delon and his eldest son Anthony requested that the French film legend be placed under “protection” for “health reasons.”
Then, on January 13, according to the same lawyers, an examination was carried out by a doctor appointed by the public prosecutor's office.
The guardianship judge's report, dated January 25, indicates that “there is a disagreement between the three children of Mr. Alain Delon, in particular regarding their medical care” and the guardians “who are responsible for their care.”
“Given the conflict, it is necessary […]that a neutral and impartial judicial representative for the protection of adults be appointed to assist him,” the text adds.
Since the beginning of the month, the actor's three children have been waging a war in the courts and in the media. Both vow to protect their father, whose health has deteriorated since his stroke in 2019.
Anthony, 59, and AlainFabien, 29, believe that Alain Delon is being manipulated by his sister Anouchka, 33, who they accuse of hiding his health condition and wanting to take him to Switzerland.
Lawyer Frank Berton, who represents Delon's daughter, told AFP that Anouchka “welcomes that the court has appointed a representative.”
