According to the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM), there are two low pressure systems that could become tropical cyclones in the coming days, affecting the Caribbean region and the Gulf of Mexico.

The first area is in the southwest Caribbean Sea, with a 40% chance of a cyclone developing in 48 hours and 50% in 7 days. It is located about 1,035 km southeast of Puerto Costa Maya, Quintana Roo, and moves towards the northeast.

It is approx 825km North-east of Cancun Quintana Rooand moves towards the northeast. This area does not pose an immediate threat to Mexican territory but remains under surveillance.
