The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America and the People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) announced today in Caracas its support for the agreements reached at the joint summit of Arab and Islamic countries on the current conflict in the Middle East.

“ALBA-TCP joins in condemning and condemning Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, which commits atrocities and systematic human rights violations,” the regional alliance said in a statement.

The League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation called for an immediate end to military operations in Gaza at their summit on Saturday in the Saudi city of Riyadh.

They also joined calls for an “immediate cessation” of military actions in the Palestinian territories.

“What is happening in Gaza is a genocide and has reached extreme proportions and is one of the worst humanitarian disasters of our time,” he warned.

ALBA-TCP member countries said they would support “any initiative to end the massacre in Gaza” and would also respect international humanitarian law and comply with United Nations resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This regional integration alliance consists of Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela.
