An Arby’s employee in Hueytown, Alabama, was arrested Saturday after he threw hot grease at a customer, according to the Hueytown Police Department.

Officers arrived at the scene following a “report of an altercation between an employee and a customer,” the Hueytown Police Department wrote in a post shared on Facebook. Paramedics were immediately on the scene to treat the customer, who suffered burns from hot fat thrown by a staff member who was taken into custody, the Post said.

A spokesman for Arby’s told Insider in a statement that the employee was fired and the company is working with local law enforcement.

“The actions of the former Hueytown, AL employee were reprehensible,” the spokesman said. “We immediately terminated the perpetrator and are cooperating with local authorities in their investigation. Our hearts beat for the guest and we work to support their recovery.”

According to local reports, there were no other injuries and the victim was taken to UAB hospital. The victim’s condition has not yet been released.
