Carlos Alcaraz has won the first set of the Wimbledon semifinals against Daniil Medvedev. The Spaniard clinched the opener after breaking the Russian’s serve and confirming the break in the next game to earn the opener. Alcaraz ran Medvedev around the track trying to make him sweat while his rival defended by returning balls and waiting for the Spaniard’s mistakes. The number one is aiming for a place in the final of French greats after beating Holger Rune in the quarter-finals and reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time. But first he must defeat Medvedev, third in the rankings, who arrives after beating Christopher Eubanks, one of the surprises of the tournament. The winner will meet Novak Djokovic in the final next Sunday, who defeated Jannik Sinner in the other semifinal.
