On Monday, the all-Texas ALCS ends with a winner-take-all Game 7. The Texas Rangers evened the series against the Houston Astros with a 9-2 win on Sunday at Minute Maid Park. The away team won every game in the series.

For Game 7, the Astros sent Cristian Javier to the mound and the Rangers countered with veteran Max Scherzer. It was fireworks from the start, as after just one inning the score was 3-1.

First, Corey Seager hit a solo home run.

Then Evan Carter walked, stole second and scored on a single by Adolis Garcia.

Garcia then moved to second and scored on a single by Mitch Garver. That’s three runs shy of the second out of the game. A Jonah Heim single later and Javier’s day on the mound was over before the end of the first inning.

In the Astros’ half of the inning, they scored a run back with a double by Jose Altuve, an intentional walk by Yordan Alvarez and a single by Jose Abreu.

In the third, Garcia continued his postseason power streak with a solo home run that made the Rangers’ final score 4-1.

With the Philadelphia Phillies leading the NLCS 3-2 heading into Game 6, it was the Diamondbacks’ last chance. To keep their season alive, they had to find a way to win in every opponent’s nightmare stadium, Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies were undefeated this postseason.

Well, the Diamondbacks jumped on Philly starter Aaron Nola early, with two solo homers, a walk and a three-run double before getting one out in the second inning.

The Phillies answered in the bottom of the second, erasing the deficit with an RBI single from Brandon Marsh that made the Diamondbacks’ score 3-1.

In the fifth, a single by Corbin Carroll and a triple by Ketel Marte gave the Diamondbacks the run back and ended Aaron Nola’s day at 4 1/3 innings, with six hits and four earned runs.

The D-Backs scored another win in the seventh with singles by Perdomo and Marte, making the score 5-1 Diamondbacks.

The score held from there and the Diamondbacks forced Game 7 on Tuesday in Philly.
