Alec Baldwin was spotted in New York City flagging down a cab after his epic quest to get his wife a million followers for her birthday on January 6th.
Dressed all in black, the 64-year-old actor didn’t appear to be with his wife Hilaria Baldwin, who had a specific request from her husband for her 39th birthday – more Instagram followers.
Alec tucked two books under his left arm and watched his phone as he appeared to track his driver’s location.

In a desperate video plea on Friday, the father-of-seven asked his fans to follow his wife in hopes of taking her past the coveted milestone on Instagram.
He continued to urge fans to follow her again on Saturday, ending his 1 minute and 40 second video with, “I want to get my wife to a million followers please follow my wife.”
It took the actor two days of pleas and pleas on the social media platform, prompting some criticism from people who called his campaign “shallow” and “bizarre,” but his wife actually broke the one million Instagram followers milestone .

As a token of gratitude, the longtime Hollywood star wrote a simple note that read, “Thank you to everyone who helped get my wife to 1 million followers,” then posted it to his Instagram page along with the simple one Caption: ‘Really.’
Hilaria has since reposted her husband’s message to thank everyone who participated in the virtual birthday gift.
“Thank you all. It’s like a fun party we’re all at,” she shared along with a green heart emoji. ‘Love you all. Let’s make 2023 great.”
She also shared a photo from her birthday party at home, along with another, thanking everyone for all the well wishes on their special day.
“Love you all for the birthday wishes and helping celebrate my 39th… here’s too much cake, wild baldwinito dance parties and getting dressed to go out with my husband.”

Although he offered an explanation for his Instagram follower request, a lot of people took the time to ask why the couple cares about Instagram follower count.
Countless commenters asked questions like “I wonder why this is so important” and “And this is important, why?”.
