Alec Baldwin mourns the death of Halyna Hutchins.
The 64-year-old actor was wielding a gun on the set of his film Rust last October when it went off and fatally shot the cameraman, and his daughter Ireland Baldwin – who he had with ex-wife Kim Basinger – can’t imagine how stressful the situation was for her father.

The tragedy played a role in manifesting Ireland’s own fear, but it also made the 26-year-old model more “defensive” about her famous father.
She added, “I was more angry, like at people’s reactions … I was in full defensive mode.”

Host Jada Pinkett Smith, 50, asked Kim if she could communicate with Alec about Ireland’s anxiety struggles.
“Parenthood can be difficult and Ireland has the anxiety issues that she’s had, was that a difficult process with Alec, or were you able to see eye to eye on how to deal with that?”

Earlier this week, new video surfaced of the moment a distraught and confused Alec was told he accidentally killed Hutchins.
Footage was captured on October 21, 2021 at the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico after Baldwin’s prop cannon fired a live round during a rehearsal for a scene.

He had just finished telling cops he wasn’t pulling the trigger, so he was stunned when he saw what appeared to be a live round of fire from his gun and pierced director Joel Souza’s shoulder before hitting Hutchins in the armpit met.
“I have unfortunate news. She didn’t make it,’ the investigator told him.
He shot back in his seat and said, ‘No!’ before asking if he can be excused to call his wife Hilaria. Baldwin left the room with his head in his hands. Seconds later, he was photographed in the parking lot of the sheriff’s office howling as he spoke to Hilaria.
Then and now, six months later, no one knows how a live bullet entered Baldwin’s gun.
