Alejandro Sanz’s boyfriend opens up about the alleged romance between the singer and Shakira

After it was reported from Spain that she was allegedly having an affair with Alejandro Sanz and not with the pilot Lewis Hamilton, a friend of the singer spoke out.

Are Shakira and Alejandro Sanz a couple?

According to the show “Socialité”, Shakira and Alejandro Sanz would maintain “a possible idyll”, there are “hints” in an unreleased song by the singer-songwriter.

The music producer Miguel Ángel Arenas “Capi”, who is very close to the interpreter of “Corazón partío”, was aware of the report and did not assess its credibility.

“I know them both perfectly. Rumors in this country are a joke. “Shakira is a personal friend of his life,” he said in an interview with Europa Press published June 22.

“Shakira is not the type of woman Alejandro likes, she is not his type, she is his friend and a great professional,” he said emphatically.

In recent months, the composer of “Flies in the House” has been romantically linked to Hamilton, actor Tom Cruise and basketball player Jimmy Butler, which Arenas has reason to believe.

“Now you all love Shakira because it’s over until the Catalan (Gerard Piqué) dies. He has said, “No one is cheating on me and now you’re going to find out who Shakira is.” “That did you a lot for the press,” he said.

“I don’t think she wants a man right now, she has enough to take care of her kids, her house, her job,” he added.

Also when asked if Sanz wants to fall in love after splitting up with Rachel Valdés, who was his partner for more than three years, “Capi” replied.

“I have no idea but I assume he’s very upset at the moment (calm down) and let him know he’s doing very well,” he pointed out.

He even ruled out that the 54-year-old artist could resume his romance with the 33-year-old artist from Cuba.

“No, I don’t think so. I think that they get along very well and that it was a beautiful story that had an ending. I didn’t take part in it either, I always watched it well until one day I found out ( I found out they had split up)” he concluded.

The connection between Shakira and Alejandro Sanz

Shakira and Alejandro Sanz met around 2000, but according to El Mundo, their professional paths didn’t cross until five years later.

In 2005, they released their first single together, “La tortura,” and then it was rumored they were having an affair, although neither of them were singles.

Over time, the allegations continued, such as when they released the song “I Thank You, But No” in 2006 or after it was announced in December last year that the Colombian was moving to Miami.

So far, the two were convinced that they were only connected by friendship. In September 2022, she even told Elle Spain that Alejandro backed her like Juan Luis Guerra or Chris Martin before it happened with Piqué.
