After a summer with high temperatures, winter comes in the United States of America. Heatwaves were observed across the country in July and August.
At the moment it is the cold that is damaging the nation. Meteorologists are predicting a light winter wave this weekend that will cover several states.
The government is warning through various media outlets that states between Texas and Pennsylvania need to prepare for snow. As November begins, the East Coast of North America received nearly 10 inches of snow from a few storms.
Snowfall is expected in Washington, Philadelphia and New York on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. A colder temperature of 20 degrees Fahrenheit is expected in the central part of New York City.
Flooding is forecast in the west of the country
It has been announced that there has been significant snowfall across the central western United States this week. On the night of Tuesday, October 31st, while celebrating Halloween, Michigan and Oregon experienced their first frost.
These states recorded snowfall ranging from 3 to 12 inches. Many locations in Michigan experienced power outages due to weather-related outages.
Experts expect the temperature to rise back to 60 degrees Fahrenheit by next week. Weather website Accuweather reported that the West Coast will see rainfall with strong winds over the weekend.
Analysts from meteorological agencies call this storm a “storm train”. This storm may cause disaster and flooding along the Pacific Ocean coast with accumulations of 2 to 9 inches.
