In the quaint town of Lisronagh, Ireland, a 14yearold teenager named Jayden Channon had a harrowing experience while investigating the issue gardening. What might seem like a common gardening tool incident turned out to be something completely out of the ordinary.
While enthusiastically pursuing his passion for gardening, Jayden accidentally came into contact with a poisonous plant called Heracleum mantegazzianum, or Bear’s Claw, unaware of the dangers it posed.
Eventually, as a result of this unintentional encounter, Jayden was hospitalized and spent three days under medical treatment. The hogweed plant posed a serious threat to the young man’s health and led to a number of worrying complications.
Regrettably, Jayden suffered burns caused by the plant’s sap coming in contact with the skin on his arms, legs and neck.
These burns were extremely painful and required immediate medical attention to relieve the discomfort and prevent possible complications.

Jayden was immediately rushed to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel where he received appropriate treatment for his burns.
According to his grandmother, Annemarie Channon, speaking to The Chron, the young man is said to have suffered second and third degree burns. Thankfully, he’s recovering, but his skin may need extra care for many years to come.
