“Alerts”: a perfect joke role for actress Marilou Morin

Actress Marilou Morin had a lot of fun playing a woman with borderline personality disorder on the set of the series Warnings.

The actress showcases further facets of her talent by portraying Kim Tanguay, an angry, rebellious and manipulative woman. As a conspirator, Kim shares her sentiments online and doesn't have the police at heart. She may even freak out as soon as you talk to her.

“It is most actresses’ dream to play a role like this. I was super excited when I was called to audition because it's rare for people to consider me for acting roles. Kim is borderline and self-medicates. She was already in the army and was discharged because she was hiding mental illness,” Marilou Morin said in an interview with QMI Agency.

Despite his mistakes, Kim suffers and “is also a victim,” according to his interpreter. “She feels like everyone is against her.”

Kim is the mother of Alice (Juliette Aubé), whom the Cerberus team has been searching for since the beginning of Alerts' fourth season. It is her mother, Lucie Tanguay (Marie-Chantal Perron), who has been looking after the 12-year-old since the DPJ entered her life. Lucie forced her granddaughter to compete in the provincial beauty pageants, the Mini Misses, until she vanished into thin air, setting off an Amber Alert. Now there is suspicion that Kim could have something to do with her daughter's disappearance.

“Kim doesn’t want to hurt anyone, but she makes bad decisions. “The more she wants to get out of it, the more she falters,” said the actress, who had to be at her best in certain scenes, producing real tears and crocodile tears, as her character constantly manipulates people.

Marilou Morin, mother of two young children she had with actor Lucien Abbondanza-Bergeron, was confronted with the disappearance of Alice in the plot of Alerts. “I just had to brace myself for the prospect of one of my children being kidnapped…”

The pleasure'make ugly

Marilou Morin loves to transform herself with costumes, wigs or makeup. It was therefore provided in the “Alerts” set.

“Kim arrives with a swollen face. As an actress, that really appeals to me. They also added dark circles under my eyes and I don't mind being ugly,” she said, saying that Kim has a lot more energy than her.

“During the filming of the scene where Kim runs towards Alexandre Goyette's character and a police officer stops him, I was so committed that the metal strap of my bag hit me in the eye. […] “I had a real black eye, but it was later used for filming a scene where I had a swollen eye,” said the woman, who enjoys playing physical roles and even does stunts when “possible.”

“I have a gun, so I like that. As soon as I arrive on set, I ask the prop man for my gun. Maryse is interesting because she does work that is often done by men, she is brilliant and still flirtatious. I am pleased to defend a woman who is taking responsibility for an important position.”
