Alexandra Stréliski is in a celebratory mood: in the middle of her world tour, the pianist has just received a golden ticket to mark the sale of more than 50,000 tickets for the tour Neo-Romanticism in Quebec.
This award is in addition to the awards the artist won at the recent ADISQ Gala last November: Album of the Year – Neo-Romance Instrumental Music, Artist of the Year – International Influence and Female Artist of the Year.
“For a little girl who never wanted to play the piano, this is starting to make a lot of money! Haha. I thank every person who chooses to support live performances. From a personal perspective, it fills me with gratitude and from a societal perspective, it gives me hope that we will not let our culture disappear,” said Alexandra Stréliski in a press release.
This pianist's third album is on the Polaris Music Prize longlist.
Last month, Alexnadra Stréliski introduced two new pieces: Prelude in Lodz and Umbra, a nearly five-minute piece that closes her concert. These compositions will be added to the tracks on the Néo Romance album to create a “deluxe” version, now available on all listening platforms.
Alexandra Stréliski will give a sixth concert at the Grand Théâtre de Québec on January 11th and two more at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts on January 17th and 18th, 2024.
