Alfonso Herrera explains why he refused to return to RBD: ‘Money isn’t everything’

Alfonso Herrera opened the game and gave a definitive answer on the reason for not taking part in the return of the RBD group, which he was part of between 2004 and 2008 the year the sextet broke up.

“I usually never pay attention to content that promotes such nasty things. But it seems important to me to disclose some things that are mine and not an invention. Denying my past is denying my present, money isn’t everything and it usually doesn’t motivate my decisions,” Poncho wrote on Twitter.

He, who now prefers to pursue acting, said he’s grateful for what he had, for what he has and for what’s to come. “I will always wish the best for any project that comes from Rebelde. Just as my colleagues have supported me in absolutely everything, which I really appreciate,” he continued.

“Rebel means and still means chasing your dreams and being consistent with what you want out of life, something I try to do every day…sometimes I succeed and sometimes I learn.” And to the fans my eternal gratitude for so much support and love. Happy 2023,” the Sense 8 actor concluded.

In general, I don’t pay attention to magazines that only post unpleasant things, but I think it’s important to disclose some points that are mine and not an invention.

To deny my past is to deny my present, money is not todo and does not in its entirety motivate my decisions.

Rebel is and does it mean chasing your dreams and being consistent with what you want in life, something I try to do every day? Sometimes I reach, sometimes I learn.

And to the fans my eternal gratitude for so much support and affection.

Without a poncho, the other members of RBD announced the group’s return in December 2022. Dulce María, Anahi, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez and Christopher Uckermann posted a video on their social networks, teasing fans with rumors of an upcoming tour.

The video posted by the members shows scenes from the soap opera and their reunion. In addition, it also featured a website that had a 31day countdown, with the end date being January 19, 2023. “Prepare your tie,” warned the site, which shut down within minutes due to the volume of hits.
