Two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, tied the knot in an intimate relationship on Thursday in Mumbai Ceremony attended by some of the greats of Indian cinema.
At one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings in India in recent years The Bollywood power couple cut cake and toasted their wedding in the Vastu building, where they both own their own apartments. The pair wore outfits designed by Sabyasachi, a household name in India.

The pre-wedding celebrations began Wednesday with a traditional Hindu ritual called Ganesh Puja at Kapoor’s home in Pali Hill. The Kapoors’ home and other properties, including RK Studios, were adorned with warm lights for the wedding celebrations. A mehendi ceremony also took place, as is customary in Punjabi weddings.
The timing of the wedding had been kept secret and none of the stars revealed their date. However, speculation about the imminent nuptials has been rife since Tuesday, when pictures showing Kapoor’s Mumbai home decorated with lights surfaced on social media, according to CNN affiliate News-18.

Kapoor and Bhatt are both among Bollywood’s highest-paid actors, with the latter being named eighth – the highest-ranking woman – in Forbes India’s latest Celebrity 100 list, which put their combined earnings at nearly $14 million in 2019.
Both stars were born into families of prominent actors and directors. Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actor Soni Razdan while Kapoor is the grandson of Hindi cinema legend Raj Kapoor and the son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.
Kapoor’s cousins, actresses Kareena and Karisma Kapoor, and filmmaker Karan Johar, who refers to Bhatt as his daughter, were among those pictured at the wedding. Sisters Kareena and Karisma wore saris designed by Manish Malhotra.
Ranbir Kapoor became famous through romantic comedies like “Barfi!”. and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, in which he starred alongside Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, respectively. In 2018, he played actor Sanjay Dutt in the blockbuster biopic Sanju, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema.
Bhatt has appeared in several hit films since his debut in 1999’s Sangharsh, including Raazi and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Her 2019 film Gully Boy was selected as India’s entry in the Best International Feature Film category at the 92nd Academy Awards.

The couple recently wrapped up work on their first acting appearance together in the long-awaited Indian superhero film ‘Brahmastra’, due out later this year.
Kapoor first revealed that he and Bhatt were dating in 2018. Speaking to GQ India magazine soon after they started filming “Brahmastra,” he said, “When I see her work, when I see her acting, even in life, what she gives is something I do.” aim for me.”
