Mahesh Bhatt became a director with his daughter Alia Bhatt’s marriage to Ranbir Kapoor On Thursday, her half-brother Rahul Bhatt revealed. Alia and Ranbir have tied the knot in a close affair at their home in Mumbai.

However, Rahul told the Times of India that calling the wedding a small gathering was inaccurate as more than 100 people attended. Among the guests were friends and relatives of both the bride and groom, including Kareena Kapoor, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Karisma Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Pooja Bhatt, Soni Razdan and others.

Rahul, who has spoken to the press since the wedding rumors began, said both families are very meticulous about the wedding rituals and instructed the pundit on how they should be performed. Alia and Ranbir dated for five years before tying the knot. They fell in love while working together on their upcoming film Brahmastra, directed by boyfriend Ayan Mukerji. Ayan was among the few film industry figures to attend the wedding. Alias mentor and father figure, Karan Johar, was also in attendance.
