Alison Hammond was wrongly billed £10,000 to have her car serviced and she didn’t realize the money was missing from her bank.
The 47-year-old TV presenter stunned This Morning viewers as she hosted the show on Friday when she explained the garage should have charged her £1,000 but wrongly took an extra £9,000.
Broadcaster Alison said: “I had my car serviced. I paid for the service and only realized when they called me that they had charged me £10,000. I hadn’t checked my balance.

“They noticed it a month later and called me to say they wanted to charge £1,000 but they asked for £10,000 instead.”
Expressing her gratitude for the mechanic’s honesty, she added: “I didn’t even realize it. That was nice of you to tell me.’
The story shocked her co-host Dermot O’Leary, 49, and guests Gyles Brandreth, 74, and Carol Vorderman, 61, leaving the trio open-mouthed.

Alison recalled her experience just moments after they discussed the cost of living crisis on the ITV show.
On Twitter, many viewers slammed former Big Brother roommate Alison for being “not in touch.”

The television personality, who rose to fame in the Big Brother house in 2002, said she was “overwhelmed” as she marked this special day.
Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were there as they sent Alison to their hometown of Birmingham to allegedly meet a Dosh on the Doorstep contest winner who shared her name.

Then the feed to Alison’s earbuds was interrupted and Holly explained that she thought they had a “technical issue” while the duo told viewers what was really going on.
“We made it all up because the person we’re surprising today is actually Alison herself as she’s been on This Morning for an incredible and wonderful 20 years,” smiled Phil, while Holly added, “We have a whole morning for surprises prepared. ‘

“Usually you do the surprising, today the surprise is up to you! Happy 20th Anniversary This Morning! Happy birthday, Alison Hammond,’ Kate called.
Alison was then whisked away to the Midlands Arts Center where a special Best Bits compilation of This Is Your Life was played with friends and family in the audience.
Alison gasped, “How did you do that? This is the best day of my life!’
