Alison Hammond reaffirms her single status when questioned about missing ring

Alison Hammond reaffirmed her single status on Friday when asked about her missing “single ring” This Morning.

The 48-year-old presenter shocked fans earlier this month when she announced she was single live on air, just weeks after she was rumored to have gotten ‘engaged’ to Ben Hawkins.

But Alison made it clear she’s a single woman and hinted there was no chance of a reconciliation with Ben as she confirmed she still has her pear ring – indicating to people she’s available.

Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary were joined by Matthew Wright and Vanessa Feltz during the Morning View segment when Matthew remarked, “The green ring’s gone?!”

To emphasize that the ring was still tight around him, Alison said, “No, no, no. It’s definitely not gone. Trust me, this ring is not going anywhere.

“I actually contacted the company and they will send me an actual ring.”

The pear ring works the opposite of an engagement ring where users put it on to show strangers that they are available.

The official green ring costs £19.99 and aims to help people find love in person rather than through dating apps.

Alison only opened up about her single status on This Morning on Monday when she showed off her “single ring” during a discussion about dating apps.

Flashing the pear ring, she said: “More and more people want to meet people who are out and about and having a green ring might be a good idea to let people know you’re single. As you can see, I’m wearing my only ring.’

Holly then interjected: “Hopefully you don’t need it for a lifetime.”

It comes after Alison revealed her relationship status on the show earlier this month when she exclaimed: “Well I’m single!” while he discussed the new Love Island spin-off show with co-host Dermot.

When Dermot read the casting call for new show The Romance Retreat, which was set to be hosted by Davina McCall, he motioned for his co-star to sign on, telling her they were looking for “live single parents”.

To which she replied, “Hey, I’m single!”

The couple joined two other panelists in discussing how amazing the show was going to be, and Alison remarked, “I’m excited. And it’s good that Davina got that, I like that!’

To which Dermot – who seems to know about their relationship status – then broke in, noting: ‘Wait a minute have a child over 18… casting call Alison says ITV is looking for vibrant single parents from around the world UK…’

With Alison then bursting into giggles before coyly adding: “Well I’m single, I’m single!”

When Dermot then said there was a cash prize at the end of the series and her co-stars goaded her into doing it, Alison said, “I would give the money to charity, but I could do that and find a nice man.” !’

She then joked with her pal Dermot, “Love and money, your two favorite things!”

It came just weeks after Alison awkwardly revealed during an episode of the ITV show that she is not engaged to partner Ben amid speculation they were about to tie the knot.

While this followed days after the presenter’s father-in-law, Colin Hawkins exclusively told Web the couple had proposed to each other.

Her co-star Dermot opened the show with the banging of wedding bells, exclaiming, “I hear congratulations are in order, someone’s getting married.”

“I told you if I ever got engaged or married I’d be the first person to tell you! I would put everything on Instagram and TikTok!’

She continued: “Sorry it’s fake news! I will not marry. One day it might happen but sorry babes but it’s fake news.

‘You’d be the first to know!’

‘I was looking forward to walking you down the aisle!’ Dermot joked.

Earlier this week, in an exclusive chat with Web, Colin Hawkins, 72, said wedding bells are on the horizon for the couple after they both “proposed”.

When asked if Ben and Alison were getting married, Colin replied, “I know they both proposed, but as far as I know there are no rings.”

He also said Alison was the “nicest woman we’ve ever met” and how happy they are.

The formerly loved-up couple were first pictured together in February as they left Ben’s house in a green dress and camouflage coat.

A source said: “Alison has been touched by how Holly has stood up since breaking up with Ben – she’s texted and called her almost daily and even taken her out for wine.”

Still, she has sought solace from co-host Holly, 42, who is said to be “advising” her during their split.

A source told Closer magazine: “She helped lift Alison’s spirits by not only being there for her to talk to and lean on her shoulder, but by instilling in her confidence and helped her focus on the many positive things she has in her life. It’s like a form of counseling.”

The insider added, “Although Holly and Alison were never best friends, Alison has been touched by how Holly has risen since breaking up with Ben – texting her, calling her almost daily and even taking her out for wine, which is huge.” therapeutic was Alison.

“There have been a few nights where she and Holly have spent time on the phone talking things through – and Holly really helped remind Alison how much she has to be happy.”

The pair have documented their close bond on Instagram, with several posts shared together over the past few days.
