First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is one of three Toronto Blue Jays players to lead their respective positions in Major League Baseball All-Star Game picks.

In the American League, former Montreal Expos star Vladimir Guerrero’s offspring leads his competition with 947,045 votes. His closest challenger is Seattle Mariners’ Ty Frances (596,030). Among the receivers, Alejandro Kirk has an excellent chance of ending up in the classic due to his 1,057,008 votes, significantly more than the crop of Jose Trevino (387,983), of the New York Yankees. For his part, Bo Bichette is involved in a bitter struggle at the shortstop. With 585,744 votes, he ranks low ahead of Tim Anderson (528,278) and Xander Bogaerts (525,202) of the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox, respectively.
Additionally, Santiago Espinal garnered 522,154 votes at second base and is the closest rival to the Houston Astros’ Jose Altuve (710,708). Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge received the most votes in all of Major League Baseball, more than 1,500,000.
The identities of the top two-place finishers at each position in both the National and American will be announced on June 30th. These athletes advance to the second phase of voting, which determines the starters for each formation. These will be announced on July 8th and the rest of the teams two days later. The game will take place on July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
