While the names of the 2018 Canadian junior team players involved in an alleged gang rape have yet to be revealed, another alleged sexual assault case involving the junior national team remains the focus of investigators’ attention.
TSN journalist Rick Westhead said Wednesday that Halifax Regional Police are continuing their investigation into a possible gang rape during the 2002-2003 World Cup. In recent weeks, authorities have tried to contact witnesses who could pass on information. The trial was launched in 2022 after a Conservative MP made allegations to the same source: John Nater, claiming that more than six hockey players filmed an attack on a naked woman who was unaware at the time of the incident.

“The case is still under investigation,” police officer Nicolas Gagnon reminded TSN.
The 2003 ÉCJ color bearers include Quebecers Marc-André Fleury, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau.
Hockey Canada was rocked by the London case back in June 2018. Several junior team players raped a woman, who later settled out of court.
