The Sûreté du Québec’s appeal to the population to find other potential victims of Guylaine Potvin’s alleged murderer does not surprise Saguenay’s defense attorney Jean-Marc Fradette.

“We’ve seen this recently in sexual assault cases in the region and it’s working,” he said. The Sûreté du Québec is increasingly using this investigative technique. It’s a proven technique that can deliver results.”
According to him, the suspect could also have made a confession to the police.

“The defendant can say as an example I committed other crimes, but I can’t tell you the name of the person or where and where the police will be making the call to try and reconcile the elements,” he explained.
Me Fradette believes that only a psychopath can live a normal life in society for over 20 years without anyone knowing.
“A psychopath has no emotions,” he said. You don’t experience other people’s feelings. Harming others does not affect them. So if it’s that type of guy, it’s quite possible that those around him haven’t suspected anything over the years.
Marc-André Grenon was arrested in Granby on Wednesday, 22 years after charges were brought against him.
