“Allergic to running”, she is close to death due to a delayed flight

A 27-year-old Canadian woman claims she nearly died trying to catch her second flight during a transfer last month, Newsweek reports.

Divz Mangat, originally from British Columbia, claims to be “allergic to running.” However, she was flying to Punta Cana with her sister and friends, but their first flight was delayed, so they had to run to make sure they didn’t miss their second flight.

Arriving at the gate, the young woman felt unwell and had difficulty breathing. Pimples also appeared on her body.

Divz Mangat’s allergic reaction was filmed by her sister Dee and shared on TikTok. In the video, which has been viewed by more than 6.6 million people, the 27-year-old woman can be seen in pain on the plane while administering her EpiPen.

Divz Mangat claims that this is not the first time she has experienced such symptoms.

“For the past few months, it’s been happening to me every time I run or when I’m stressed,” she says. “I wasn’t sure if it was the running or the stress, but that day I realized it was the running and the stress.”

The young Canadian is still waiting for an appointment with a specialist. Although she has not received an official diagnosis, Divz Mangat believes she suffers from exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

This rather rare condition is characterized by many symptoms that appear after physical activity, including redness, pimples, swelling of the skin, nausea and vomiting.

In particularly severe cases, some patients experience a drop in blood pressure and difficulty breathing or swallowing.
