Allison Langdon reveals the invaluable advice outgoing A Current Affair host Tracy Grimshaw gave her ahead of her new gig on the show
Allison Langdon will host A Current Affair starting Monday.
And the new host received invaluable advice from the woman who held the coveted seat after 17 years at the helm – Tracy Grimshaw.
“I spoke to Trace a lot before the (host) announcement was made and I remember a conversation we had when she pulled in before her last show,” the 43-year-old told The Herald Sun on Saturday .

‘She said, ‘Just be yourself, Ally, be yourself and follow what you want to follow’.
Allison went on to say that Tracy advised her to know her audience.
“She told me to listen to the ACA audience; They’re smart, they know what they’re talking about, but find your own way and be authentic,” Allison explained.

“Be real and be yourself, she said,” she added.
Channel Nine confirmed in December that Ally was stepping down from her role as co-host on Today to replace outgoing ACA presenter Grimshaw, 62.
60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo will take Ally’s place alongside Karl as the new Today co-host.

She choked when Karl praised her, saying she was the perfect cast to follow in the footsteps of her late father-in-law, Mike Willesee, on A Current Affair.
