However, what you may not know is that Allison had a brief stint on another HBO show, Boardwalk Empire, in her early days as an actress — and it doesn’t sound like her on-set experience was all that great.

During a recent appearance on the “Women Behind the Words” panel at the Nantucket Film Festival (via IndieWire), Allison realized what a crew member said to her and how it reflected the general attitude towards people in Hollywood who identify as women.

Allison said that she was acting as a stand-in for the show’s pilot and that it was “the coolest experience ever” to be a part of it. “A great pilot,” she said. “It was shot on film. It was amazing.”

However, Allison then recalled an experience she had while helping out with the crafts on set. “A member of the crew came up and said, ‘So what are you doing here? Are you the eye candy on set?’”

Allison went on to say that such experiences have been quite common for her while working in Hollywood. “It’s an example of me being at work and someone saying that to me,” she said, before recounting another inappropriate comment someone made to her on another set.
