The 30-year-old free agent is making a comeback with the “Sparrows,” who wore the Montreal team’s colors during the 2019 season.

The American played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for the last two seasons. Prior to his first stint in La Belle Province, he worked for the Calgary Stampeders from 2015 to 2018.

“We’re bringing another great player back into our group. Additionally, Ciante is familiar with the defense of our coordinator, Noel Thorpe, which allows us to further solidify our secondary lineage,” Maciocia said in a statement from his organization.

Last year, Evans had 26 tackles and one interception in 13 games.

The Alouettes have also reached an agreement with American wide receiver Quartney Davis. The latter attended training camps for the Minnesota Vikings (2020) and the Indianapolis Colts (2021).
