Already three Félixes for Daniel Bélanger

Daniel Bélanger was the most nominated artist at all ADISQ Galas this year with nine mentions, walking away with three statuettes from the Industry Gala and the First ADISQ Gala on Wednesday. Philippe Brach also received three awards for his project.

The years pass and are the same for Daniel Bélanger, who collects victories when he releases a new album. This time it was his outstanding Mercury in May that earned him the award.

During the Industry Gala, which took place for the first time at the Piano Nobile at Place des Arts, Bélanger received the Félix for Album of the Year. In the evening, his Mercure en mai was named Album of the Year – Critics’ Choice and Album of the Year – Pop at the Premier Gala.

On Sunday evening at the ADISQ gala, Bélanger can add four more trophies to his collection: Album of the Year – Popular Achievement, Song of the Year (I Hear Everything That Plays (In Your Head)), Male Artist of the Year and Author or Composer of the year.

Broke three times

For his part, Philippe Brach also heard his name called three times on Wednesday. At the Industry Gala, the songwriter received the Félix for Arrangements of the Year for the album Les gens qu’on amour together with Gabriel Desjardins, known as La Controverse.

The cover of Brach’s album, designed by the La maison fauve team, received the Félix for album cover of the year. Finally, Philippe Brach left the first ADISQ gala with the trophy for Album of the Year – Alternative.

Among the forty other winners on Wednesday we find Ginette Reno (Adult Contemporary Album), Matt Holubowski (English Album), Richard Séguin (Folk Album), Alexandra Stréliski (Instrumental Music Album), Les Trois Accords (Rock Album) and Adib Alkhalidey ( humor show) and Club Soly (humor show).

The 45th edition of the ADISQ Gala, hosted by Louis-José Houde, will take place on Sunday at 8 p.m. on ICI Télé.
