When he announced the names of the bigs in the race Sanremo Music Festival 2023, amadeus he had made a promise: no super-italian guests this year because he felt it would be unfair to the contestants. “We’re only open to over 70s,” claimed the artistic director. But a few weeks before the start of the event, it seems so changed my mind.

Mahmood and Blanco guests at Sanremo 2023
During the live broadcast of The Year to Come, the traditional New Year’s Eve show will continue to be broadcast Rai 1Amadeus has indeed announced that it will open the first evening of Sanremo 2023 Mahmoud and Blanco. The two singers triumphed with their Brividi at the last edition and are now ready to take the Ariston stage again with a new guise. So the conductor is himself denied, who welcome the two young artists (30 and 19 years old: far from 70 years old) as great guests. Of course, it’s not the first time the festival has hosted the winner of the previous edition; in fact, you could say it is tradition the event. And Mahmood and Blanco can only help increase the ratings (probably already very high) of the first night of Sanremo 2023 given the affection that has overwhelmed them this year.
However, one wonders if Amadeus’ announcement of the absence of big Italian guests to focus on international stars was one movement wise. Especially because so far the only artists who will certainly be present at the Ariston are the two authors of Chills and psalm, another big name in Italian music, who will perform during the opening and closing nights. We’ll just have to wait until February 7th to find out if the Artistic Director has anything in store surprise.
