Amanda Clutes tested positive for COVID for the first time since the pandemic began, she revealed Thursday, 20 months after her husband, Broadway star Nick Cordero, died of coronavirus complications at age 41.
The Talk presenter, who is fully vaccinated and reinforced, shared the news of her positive test on Instagram today, assuring fans and followers that she “feels completely normal”, but added that she will be absent from CBS during the day. show while she is quarantined.
Amanda, 39, admitted that her positive test result came as a “surprise”, explaining that she tested negative just a few days before flying back to Los Angeles from vacation in Mexico.
“Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID and will miss a few days of work until the quarantine is over,” she wrote in an Instagram post, which was accompanied by an advertisement for the TV presenter and her Talk colleagues.

Although Amanda had traveled abroad earlier in the week, she confirmed that she had taken all precautions when it came to testing, noting that she had taken a negative test before flying to Mexico and had another negative test before return home to LA.
The fitness instructor, who has become a TV presenter, assured his fans that she “feels completely normal”, while admitting that her diagnosis of COVID was a “surprise”.
“I recently returned from a trip to Mexico, where the test was negative before I left and before I flew home, so it was a surprise this morning,” she continued.
“This is the first time I’ve tested positive since the pandemic.”

The Broadway star Nick, whose roles on stage include Rock of Ages and a waitress, spent 95 days in hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19 in late March 2020.
Amanda first revealed on March 31 that her husband was in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and had “difficulty breathing.” Days later, doctors confirmed that Nick was suffering from a coronavirus after being tested three times, with negative results the first two times.
Fitness instructor Amanda, who met Nick while working on Broadway as a dancer, could not be at her husband’s bedside at the time due to restrictions on coronavirus visitors.
During his months of hospitalization, Amanda continued to keep her followers informed of her husband’s condition, revealing that his symptoms worsened shortly after he was admitted to hospital, prompting doctors to put him on a ventilator.
Initially, the singer’s health stabilized at the hospital, but on April 10, Amanda revealed that her husband was “fighting for his life.”
In the following hours, Amanda was told that Nick should undergo emergency surgery immediately after it was determined that the ventilator, which was placed to support his heart and lungs, was blocking the flow of blood to his right leg.
The TV presenter recently returned from a fugitive before her birthday in Mexico, but she insisted she tested negative for COVID before flying back to Los Angeles.

Nick managed to escape alive from the operation, but Amanda said at the time that he was “fighting” and remained in a coma caused by medical purposes.
The following week, April 18, the star had to be amputated on his right leg after suffering from blood clots.
On April 24, Amanda said Nick had tested negative for COVID-19, but hours later doctors were forced to install a temporary pacemaker after he began experiencing an irregular heartbeat.
The father of one child then contracted a lung infection that spread to his bloodstream, causing septic shock, Amanda said. While in the hospital, Nick also suffered a number of other complications, including two minor strokes.
Nick died on July 5.
In the 20 months since his death, Amanda has continued to honor her husband, while documenting her life as a single mother to their son Elvis, who will turn three in June this year.

Last month, she shared a video of her late husband feeding their son Elvis, made in January 2020, as she revealed her ongoing grief.
“I think the most important lesson we learn from losing a life is how to live a life,” she wrote.
“There have been a lot of losses lately, and that really made me think about what death teaches us.” What lessons can we learn? Maybe this is a stage of grief that I am going through, I don’t know, but I am in a phase of throwing caution to the wind!
