Amber Heard took responsibility for the poo in her shared bed with Johnny Depp the night after an explosive fight, according to one of Depp’s security guards, who testified that she called it “a terrible joke”.
Starling Jenkins, a member of Depp’s security team, testified Thursday about the feces in the Heard-Depp trial.
Depp is suing Heard, alleging that she defamed him when she described herself as a victim of domestic violence in an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018 and that she actually physically and verbally abused him. Heard has denied the allegations, alleging that Depp hit her multiple times while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Jenkins testified about the time surrounding Heard’s 30th birthday dinner on April 21, 2016. Depp was late to the party at the couple’s shared penthouse apartment in Los Angeles, the actor testified early in the trial, because he had an in-depth conversation with the CEO about the unexpectedly disastrous state of his finances. After dinner, Depp claimed, Heard verbally abused and hit him.

Depp left Heard at the apartment while he walked to his Hollywood Hills home. The next morning, after Heard left for a planned trip to Coachella, a housekeeper found feces on Depp’s side of the couple’s shared bed.
“My first reaction to that was I laughed,” Depp previously testified, describing the reaction upon seeing a photo of the poop. “It was so out there, it was so bizarre and so grotesque that all I could do was laugh.”
Jenkins testified that he accompanied Heard on the Coachella trip. Before he, Heard, her sister, and a friend left for the music festival, Jenkins picked up Heard’s luggage and two dogs.
He later “had a conversation about the surprise she left in the boss’s bed,” testified Jenkins, which he dubbed “the turd.”
Heard described it as “a terrible hoax gone wrong,” Jenkins said.
Depp testified early in the trial that he only spoke to Heard more than a month after his mother’s death.
Heard blamed her two dogs for the poop, an explanation Depp found unconvincing as they were teacup Yorkies, which he said weighed about 4 pounds each.
“I lived with these dogs. I picked up her radio. It wasn’t the dogs,” Depp said.
